We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead an organization’s technological strategy and innovation initiatives. Duties
- Audit all existing systems and workflows
- Map current technology landscape
- Identify integration opportunities and pain points
- Build relationships with department heads
- Develop 5-year technology roadmap
- Launch 1-2 quick-win AI pilots
- Integrate core systems (CRM, accounting, project management, design tools)
- Deploy AI tools for operational efficiency and customer experience
- Build automated visual design boards from customer selections
- Create AI recommendation engine for design choices
- Hire and onboard 2 team members
- Establish technology, governance and standards
Qualifications
Technical Expertise (Must-Have):
- Emerging Technology Leadership—Stay ahead of tech trends, evaluate and integrate new technologies before competitors, translate innovation into competitive advantage
- AI/LLM Integration—Claude API, OpenAI, RAG systems, prompt engineering, production deployments
- Software Architecture—system design, API integration, database architecture
- Full-Stack Development—Python, JavaScript/TypeScript (can code, not just manage)
- System Integration—Connecting disparate platforms, data flow design
- Computer Vision/Image AI—For visual boards and design tools
- Claude Code Proficiency – Uses AI coding tools daily (Claude, Cursor, Copilot)
- Data Management—Structured databases, file systems, automation pipelines
- Cloud Infrastructure—AWS/Azure/GCP deployment and management
- Rapid Prototyping—Ability to quickly test and validate new technologies
Leadership Skills (Must-Have):
- Strategic Thinking—5-10 year vision with pragmatic execution
- Team Building—Hiring and managing developers and contractors
- Vendor Management—Negotiating with software vendors, managing partnerships
- Executive Communication—Translate technical concepts to non-technical leaders
- Project Management—Deliver on time and on budget
- Change Management—Drive adoption of new tools and processes
Industry Knowledge (Strongly Preferred):
- Construction Workflows—Understand permit-to-keys processes
- Real Estate—Familiar with construction technology landscape
- Customer Experience Design—UX/UI for client-facing tools
- Homebuilding Business Model—Semi-custom or custom homebuilding experience
IDEAL BACKGROUND
